Biography
Eddie Izzard is an award-winning performer whose diverse stage and film roles complement his already formidable reputation as an exceptionally talented stand-up comedian.

This versatile actor and comic has been awarded the Time Out Award (1991) and the British Comedy Award for Top Stand-Up Comedian (1993, 1996), as well as the Jury Award for Best One-Man Show in the Aspen Comedy Festival (1998). His show Eddie Izzard: Dressed to Kill, received an Emmy Award for Best Writing in a Music, Variety or Comedy Program and a second Emmy Award for Best Individual Performance in a Music, Variety of Comedy Program (2000).

His other works include standup sets Unrepeatable, Definite Article, Glorious, Dress to Kill, Circle, Sexie and Stripped. He had a starring role in the television series The Riches as Wayne Malloy and has appeared in many motion pictures such as Ocean's Twelve, Ocean's Thirteen, Mystery Men, The Cat's Meow and Across the Universe.

He has cited his main comical role model as Monty Python, and John Cleese once referred to him as the "Lost Python." He is also known for his transvestism.

In 2009 he completed 43 marathons in 51 days for Sport Relief in spite of having no prior history of long distance running.
