Biography
Pop singer and actress, born in Kentwood, Louisiana, USA. Britney began competing in talent shows at an early age and attended the Professional Performing Arts School in New York City during school vacations. At age 11 she joined the cast of the popular TV show The All New Mickey Mouse Club, and later signed a development deal with Jive Records. The title track of her first album, Baby One More Time (1999), quickly became a number 1 hit, and she gained a huge following. Later albums include Britney (2001), In the Zone (2003), and Greatest Hits: My Prerogative (2004). She made her film debut in Crossroads (2002).

Her fifth studio album named "Blackout" was released in 2007. It followed closely by her sixth studio album, "Circus" that was released one year later in 2008, also debuted at number one in the Billboard 200 albums chart with the hit single "Womanizer" which is Spears second song to peak at number one on Billboard Hot 100 in over 10 years.

In her entire career, Britney Spears has sold over 80 million records worldwide. On December 11, 2009 Billboard Magazine named Britney Spears the second-best selling act of the 2000s, solely based on album sales as well as the 8th overall best act of the decade based on album sales, chart success, and cultural relativity.
